Let’s bring meaningful study abroad learning within reach for all of our students through the Study Abroad Scholarship Fund.

National research spotlights the immense value and importance of a study abroad experience during a student’s educational journey:

• Students who studied abroad were 6.2% more likely to graduate in four years and had an average GPA 0.16 point higher than those who did not study abroad. (Consortium for Analysis of Student Success through International Education/CASSIE.)

• First-generation students and underrepresented minority students who study abroad are 11.6% more likely to graduate in four years and earn a 0.12 higher GPA than similar students who did not study abroad. (Consortium for Analysis of Student Success through International Education/CASSIE – University of Georgia.)

• More than 90% of students said that participating in a secondary education exchange program developed or improved key skills for post-secondary education and entry to a global workforce. (AIFS Foundation - Academic Year in America/AYA alumni study.)

• Students say their study abroad experiences are life-changing, build their confidence for future careers, and help them to recognize their role as global citizens. Employers report that a study abroad experience is a definite “plus” on a job candidate’s resume.
